Euro 2012 preparations to go according to plan on Wednesday

Euro 2012 favourites Spain are in action on Wednesday night, and should have no trouble in beating South Korea at 1/4 to carry some momentum to Poland and Ukraine.

A depleted Spanish side overcame Serbia 2-0 on Saturday night, but manager Vicente Del Bosque will welcome back several Barcelona stars absent due to club commitments for this tie.

Fernando Llorente also looks likely to return, and fired up to win a starting berth for the upcoming tournament, could be worth a first scorer punt.

Elsewhere, Spain’s opponents from the 2010 World Cup final Holland will take on Slovakia, and the Dutchmen should similarly have little trouble in justifying 1/4 odds for victory.

They were bested 2-1 at the hands of Bulgaria on Saturday, and know that a positive result is essential for them to enter an extremely difficult group in high spirits.

The sides have met just once previously, and a repeat of Holland’s 2-1 win from that occasion is available at 8/1 on Wednesday.

Amongst other sides preparing for the European championships, England’s group opponents Sweden meet Iceland, also at 1/4 to achieve what should be a relatively straightforward success.

Sweden have triumphed in the last four encounters between the two, including an emphatic 5-0 success the last time they played, in what was a European championship qualifier.

The other four matches between the two have featured goals for both though, and so Sweden to win a game in which both teams find the net looks appealing at 9/4.

Meanwhile, USA meet Brazil on Wednesday night, and the Americans could prove a shrewd investment at a big 3/1 to win.

Though their international pedigree pales in comparison to their opponents, a 5-1 triumph over Scotland on Saturday has provided a platform for Jurgen Klinsmann’s men to push on from.

Notoriously experimental tactically and in terms of squad selection for friendlies, the Selecao may be best avoided at 8/11 considering these factors.
