West Brom v Blackburn: Baggies can shake up relegation mix

Published:

Although their away form has trumped their home efforts this season, West Brom look very well-priced at 1/1 to conquer Blackburn at the Hawthorns on Saturday.

Blackburn have dropped back into the relegation zone after their impressive form was halted by back-to-back defeats, but they will hope to get back on track with victory at 11/4.

In contrast to their hosts however, their record on the road has been poor over the course of this campaign, and even obtaining a draw at 12/5 could prove a bridge too far for a side that has collected only 12 points on their travels.

West Brom triumphed at Ewood Park by a 2-1 scoreline earlier in the season, and punters could do worse than get behind this outcome again at 7/1, in light of Rovers conceding twice on their past two outings.

It is worth noting that the Baggies have been on level terms going into the break on a massive 17 occasions this season, and so the 7/2 odds for a half-time draw, and home success by full-time, are appealing.

This was the case in the reverse fixture at Ewood Park, and with the majority of West Brom’s goals coming in the second half of matches, it may pay dividends to back the Baggies to hit the first second half strike of the game at 10/11.

The 5/4 about the most West Brom goals occurring after the break is also an attractive proposition.

Peter Odemwingie could prove the difference between the sides, as the electric striker proved too hot to handle when firing the winner in the previous meeting this season.

The Nigerian livewire is a 9/2 first scorer chance and looks the best option to get behind for the opener at that price.
