QPR v Tottenham: Hosts home form to push Spurs all the way

Published:

Harry Redknapp’s side are desperate for a win in the hunt for a Champions League place and face a QPR side that are 11/4 to dent Spurs chances with another home success.

Mark Hughes’ side have undergone a resurgence in their recent home fixtures, and have followed up their last three away defeats with home wins.

The R’s have also won three of their last four home games against fellow London based sides.

Spurs are having a torrid time away from home of late and they have failed to find a victory on the road in seven games, their worst run since 2007.

However, they are 19/20 to triumph against Rangers and have yet to lose to a bottom six side this year, winning all meetings away from home against the relegation threatened sextet.

The draw is 5/2 and could be worth a punt with Redknapp’s side drawing in their last two journeys away from the Lane.

Jamie Mackie has hit the target in two of the R’s last three home victories and the Scotland international is 14/1 to be the man to break the deadlock.

Gareth Bale was the catalyst behind the 3-1 defeat Spurs inflicted on their hosts earlier in the campaign, and the Welsh winger is 6/1 to strike first as he did back in October.

Both sides have found the back of the net in eight of the last nine Premier League meetings with each other, so a score draw looks to be worth a punt at 10/3.

The home side’s form on their own patch will be tempting many to back them to produce the goods again, so pairing a win for Hughes’ men with both teams getting on the score-sheet could see some action at 6/1.
