Norwich v Liverpool: Wembley focus may cost Liverpool in league

Back-to-back defeats are not often tolerated by Norwich boss Paul Lambert, and his men have the chance to rectify their recent errors by beating Liverpool at 13/5.

Liverpool themselves come into this game on the back of a loss, and they are 1/1 to improve on a largely indifferent Premier League campaign with victory on Saturday.

Backers of the draw at 5/2 meanwhile, will take confidence from the 1-1 stalemate the sides played out at Anfield.

Each team has little to play for as it stands in the league, with Norwich safe from relegation troubles and Liverpool having secured their Europa League passage via Carling Cup success.

However, the Reds do have an FA Cup final to think about, so Norwich certainly look good to triumph given a goal start at 4/6.

It is worth noting that the Canaries have gone into the break level in more than a third of their league games this term, and Liverpool have been on terms in a big 17 of their matches by half-time too.

In light of this, 8/1 odds about a half-time draw turning into a full-time home win look massive.

Either side has averaged only little over a goal per game this term, so the 1/1 odds on two to three goals featuring in the game could see some attention, whilst Norwich to win or draw a game involving two or less goals has appeal at 7/4.

Norwich do have a respectable defensive record at Carrow Road, and with their visitors often accused of lacking a cutting edge in attacking departments, they could be worth some investment to keep a clean sheet at 7/2.

Grant Holt bagged Norwich’s goal at Anfield earlier in the season, and eager to force his way into Euro 2012 contention, the striker looks an interesting 7/1 shot for the opener on Saturday.
