Liverpool and Tottenham alerted as Moses turns down new Wigan deal

Wigan hot-shot Victor Moses has reportedly turned down a deal to stay at the North West club, leaving a number of the Premier League’s big boys clambering over his signature.

The Nigerian born winger’s agent Tony Finnigan, claimed that nearly every team in the top-flight was keen on his client.

“Victor Moses has played himself into a position where virtually every club in the Premier League want to sign him.

“All of the Premier League clubs will be strengthening in the summer and we are not surprised that Moses has been linked with virtually every team in the top division.”

Moses signed from Crystal Palace in 2010, plumping for the Latics over more well-established clubs, citing boss Roberto Martinez and his footballing principles and tactical prowess as the key elements behind his decision.

It is believed the 21-year old feels he has outgrown the struggler’s ambitions, after a season that has seen him become the main driving force in their fight against relegation, helping his side to wins against Arsenal and Man United in recent weeks.

Liverpool and Spurs are thought to be the two clubs leading the chase for the youngster, with both Kenny Dalglish and Harry Redknapp keen to freshen up their squads this summer.

A move to Spurs would allow Moses to reurn to London, something the ex-Palace man is thought to be eager to do.

However, with the likes of Gareth Bale and Aaron Lennon operating on the wings at White Hart Lane, it is highly likely that he would see more action if he stayed in the North West and joined the Reds on Merseyside.

Martinez was hopeful of keeping Moses beyond his current contract but it would appear the star’s dazzling form has seen his desire to play in the upper reaches of the Premier League prove to strong to ignore.

It is not known how much it would take to prise Wigan’s best player away, but with only a year on his contract he could prove a bargain signing for whoever can secure him for the next campaign.
