Lille star warns Tottenham as Man United step up interest

After admitting to watching Eden Hazard last month, Sir Alex Ferguson will be pleased to hear that the Belgian is ready to consider any offer Manchester United may make him.

The Lille man is believed to be flattered to have received praise from a manager of such standing, and would find a move to Old Trafford difficult to turn down.

It appeared back in January that Tottenham was Hazard’s most likely destination, but a spectacular collapse of league form since has damaged their top four aspirations, and therefore hopes of landing Hazard too.

If swapping Ligue 1 for the Premier League, the Belgian starlet has outlined his desire to join a Champions League outfit, and so title challengers United would appear to have the upper hand on other potential suitors such as Spurs.

Ferguson’s admittance to French radio station RMC that he was impressed with Hazard appeared somewhat out of character, showing the high esteem in which he regards the forward’s talents.

A personal scouting trip from the Red Devils boss is also far from commonplace, and would appear to indicate that he has a very real interest in winning the race to secure Hazard’s signature this summer.

Whilst renowned as a creative force, the 21-year-old has sharpened his eye for goal this season, smashing 16 league strikes to see him sitting second place in the Ligue 1 scoring charts.

His rapid pace, impressive dribbling capabilities and cool finishing ability have drawn comparisons to Cristiano Ronaldo, and such traits would endear him tremendously to the Old Trafford crowd.

The player is at an attractive age, and already looking to have the potential to be a leading world star in the future, the guidance of Ferguson could aid him tremendously in his quest.

Even at a reported £30million, Hazard could prove money well spent should United shore up their interest with a firm bid.
