Celtic v Rangers: Bhoys can show class with victory

Published:

Celtic have already been crowned Scottish Premier League champions thanks to a combination of their own ruthless play and Rangers’ ten point deduction for their financial problems.

However, this is the Old Firm derby and there is no such thing as a meaningless game when these sides clash.

With Georgios Samaras, Scott Brown, Kelvin Wilson and Glenn Loovens all back in the Celtic squad for this clash, it promises to be another close and gripping encounter…

Match odds

Celtic are unsurprisingly the favourites for this clash at Parkhead, with Neil Lennon’s men in at 5/6 to cap their season with another home win against their Glasgow rivals.

However, the Gers have already seen off Celtic twice in the league this season and their last encounter at Parkhead was settled by a single Joe Ledley strike.

This promises to be a tight game and, with Rangers looking for their fifth straight SPL victory, they shouldn’t be discounted at 7/2.

Goal markets

Their meeting at Celtic earlier in the season saw the home side come through and win 1-0 and the same score in this clash can be backed at 6/1.

However, the other two encounters saw 11 goals scored between them and, with Rangers hitting the net ten times in their last four games, backing both teams to score at 4/6 looks well worth a punt.

Finally, Gary Hooper is Celtic’s top scorer this season and scored against Rangers earlier in the season. He is 4/1 to be first on the scoresheet this Sunday.
