The Championship Accumulator: Forest resurgence to continue

Published:

Our Championship accumulator comes to a price in excess of 22/1, as we look to Crystal Palace and Leicester to do the business at home, while we expect Nottingham Forest’s good run to continue away at Barnsley, and think Burnley can add to an impressive record on the road at Watford.

Steve Cotterill’s Forest battled their way out of the relegation zone in the past week, following up on a home success over Coventry with a superb away win at Birmingham, and they can complete a treble by disposing of Barnsley at 13/8.

Dexter Blackstock’s return is a massive plus, and after hitting a brace at St Andrew’s last weekend, he can fire Forest to victory over a Barnsley side that has lost their last two.

Burnley are our next pick, and having won half of their away matches so far this term, the Clarets look good to inflict a third consecutive defeat on Watford at 9/5.

The Hornets have recorded only one more point at Vicarage Road than Burnley have on their travels, and former England under-21 striker Jay Rodriguez can make the difference for the visitors.

We look to Crystal Palace as the first of our home team selections, and feel the Eagles can extend a five-game unbeaten run by conquering Peterborough at 21/20.

Travelling Posh are full of goals, but a dreadful recent run has seen them win just once in their last ten matches in all competitions, and that sequence looks unlikely to end here.

Finally, Leicester can round off the accumulator by seeing off lowly Coventry at 4/7.

The Foxes are finally threatening to launch a play-off bid, and successive back-to-back away triumphs at Derby and Premier League Norwich, outlined the quality throughout their squad.

They will have too much for the spirited Sky Blues at the King Power Stadium.
