Stoke v Norwich: Canaries can pinch a point at the Britannia

Published:

Norwich City are currently eighth in the Premier League and are absolutely flying.

They have as good as guaranteed themselves Premier League safety and last week nearly held champions Manchester United at Carrow Road before a last minute Ryan Giggs winner.

They travel to Stoke this weekend though and, with the Potters winning their last game against Swansea City, it promises to be a tough afternoon for the Canaries…

Match odds

Stoke head into this game as the 10/11 favourites but the Britannia has been far from a fortress in recent weeks.

Their 2-0 win against away strugglers Swansea City last weekend was their first in five home league games and, over their past six games home games, they have the second worst record in the division.

By contrast, Norwich’s away form has been brilliant and they have lost just one of their previous six on the road, winning three of them.

They are 3/1 to see off Stoke but, with the Canaries losing their last game, they will be more concerned about not losing rather than winning.

The draw is a very tempting 12/5 – which is exactly what happened when the sides met earlier in the season.

Goal markets

Norwich have the sixth best away attack in the Premier League and have only failed to score twice on the road this term.

With all of the Canaries’ previous five games ending with over 2.5 goals scored, backing the same outcome at 5/6 is well worth consideration.

Meanwhile, with Grant Holt bagging three goals in his last two Premier League starts, backing him to find the net again at 7/1 could be worth a punt.
