No fresh injury concerns as Manchester United host Fulham

Sir Alex Ferguson will welcome the visit of Fulham to Old Trafford tonight, and the injury concerns of Nani and Michael Owen will do little to hinder their chances of taking all three points at 2/9.

The pair will be Manchester Untied’s only forced absentees, as Phil Jones and Tom Cleverley should be available for selection after coming through a midweek reserves clash unscathed.

Visitors Fulham have avoided defeat at Old Trafford on just one occasion in almost 50 years, and that record looks unlikely to discontinue tonight, hence the Cottagers’ massive 14/1 price for an way win, and the 9/2 odds for a draw.

Fulham too have no fresh injury worries, with only long term casualties Zdenek Grygera, Steve Sidwell and Orlando Sa ruled out of competition.

They have lost without scoring on their past two Premier League outings against opposition who, with all due respect, don’t have anything like the quality that Manchester United possess, and they will struggle to breach a backline that held firm in a 5-0 victory during the reverse fixture this term.

United therefore look massive at 11/10 to win the game to nil, and some punters will be interested in the 8/11 for the Red Devils to win with three or more goals occurring in the game, especially considering Fulham have conceded fifteen times on their past visits to the league leader’s home.

2-0 has been the most popular scoreline during those recent trips however, occurring three times, and it may pay dividends to invest in the 5/1 odds on that result again here.

Wayne Rooney has been in blistering form recently as well, and looks rejuvenated to lead United’s assault on a 20th Premier League title, having notched ten times in his past ten games in all competitions.

The forward is 9/4 to break the deadlock tonight and looks a terrific option even at that relatively short price.
