Lambert hot streak can scold Ladbrokes wallets

| 30.03.2012

With ten goals in his last seven Championship appearances, including two hat-tricks, 1/1 odds for Rickie Lambert to score at any time against Blackpool actually appear generous.

The Southampton striker is the leading goalscorer in the Championship, racking up 24 league strikes in 36 matches, and he is also the 4/1 favourite to get the opener in Saturday’s game.

Ladbrokes, therefore, are taking a massive risk in offering refunds to punters who place a losing first scorer bet on the televised clash.

There are an abundance of goalscorer options to pay attention to in either side, and with a Lambert goal offering a safety net for punters, it may be worth looking at Billy Sharp to break the deadlock at 9/2, following up his midweek brace against former club Doncaster.

For the home side meanwhile, the evergreen Kevin Phillips has smashed 17 goals in all competitions, including four in his last three Championship games, and could be worth a bet to notch first at 11/2.
