Ladbrokes consider Sprinter Sacre most beatable of odds-on trio

Ladbrokes are fearing that punters could head into the second day of the Cheltenham with heavily-lined pockets as Sprinter Sacre, Hurricane Fly and Quevega all look to secure victories on the opening day.

The trio are all likely to be sent off odds-on for their respective races and some punters will have even put the threesome in a treble in the hope of securing more lucrative Cheltenham odds.

However, Ladbrokes’ head of PR David Williams is confident that at least one of the trio will be beaten and the fact that less than half of the 16 horses which have started at 1/1 or shorter in the last ten years of the Cheltenham Festival have triumphed could offer some proof for this.

With Hurricane Fly and Quevega out to defend their respective Champion Hurdle and David Nicholson Mares’ Hurdle crowns, it is Sprinter Sacre that is most expected to frustrate backers.
