In-play punters clean up with Messi in Barcelona rout

| 08.03.2012

LIONEL MESSI is 3/1 to end his career with Barcelona according to Ladbrokes.

Fresh from giving the bookies another Champions League hiding the Argentine superstar is just 33/1 to score five or more in another match in the competition this season while it’s 150/1 he pulls it off in the final.

He’s odds-on at 4/6 to break Raul’s Champions League goal record before the end of the 2013/14 season, and his Barcelona side are also understandably the 11/10 favourites to lift the trophy again this season.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “In play punters were raising a glass to magic Messi last night. We naively put him up in the half time advert and they steamed in.”

He added: “The odds suggest Messi now has Raul’s Champions League record in his sights.”
