Fulham v Swansea: visitors to experience comedown after City win

Published:

Swansea City head into this clash against Fulham knowing their Premier League survival is as good as guaranteed following their win against Manchester City at the weekend.

To call the result a shock would be doing the Swans a disservice, with the Welsh side also taking points off Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea at the Liberty this season.

However, things have been very different for Brendan Rodgers’ men on the road and they will have a hard time adding to their meagre three away wins against a Fulham side who have been in fine form at Craven Cottage…

Match odds

Fulham are the 5/6 favourites to get the win in this clash and, based on their recent home record, it’s easy to see why.

They haven’t lost a home game in any competition in 2012 and have won six of their previous five, drawing the other.

While the teams may be level on points, Fulham are above the Swans on goal difference and the hosts have yet to lose at home against any side currently below them in the table this season.

If you like your odds a little longer though then, with little to separate the sides, backing the draw at 23/10 may be worth consideration, while a punt on the Swans – who are looking for their third straight win – could pay dividends at 7/2.

Goal markets

Swansea won the encounter between these sides 2-0 earlier in the season and the same result this time out can be backed at 22/1.

Meanwhile, six of Fulham’s last seven home games have yielded three or more goals, while the Swans have hit two goals in three of their last five away games.

Backing over 2.5 goals may be worth a punt at 5/6.

Finally, Scott Sinclair opened the scoring the last time these sides met and he is 8/1 to score first this time out.
