Bolton the team to finally offer value for Premier League relegation

For arguably the first time in many months, some value can be found in the Premier League odds for relegation and Bolton look the team to back at 11/8.

Given how tight the foot of the standings have been for much of the season, even though only three teams can go down, there have been as many as five clubs at times which have been odds-on to suffer the drop.

However, given recent results, Wolves, Wigan and QPR are now clear favourites to finish in the bottom three, with Bolton the next best.

Yet the majority of clubs still have ten games remaining, which is ample time to enjoy a run that can see them to safety.

In fact, in the last eight Premier League seasons, only once have the three teams in the relegation places at this point of the campaign actually gone down.

This gives hope to Wolves, Wigan and QPR that they may be able to escape the drop, especially as they are all currently only one point worse off than Bolton.

Bottom-club Wolves are 1/6 to be relegated and this seems likely given that the lack of experience of manager Terry Connor and the fact that they have suffered two 5-0 defeats in their last three games.

Furthermore, it seemed that the aura in the camp needed totally refreshing, but Connor is sticking by the same methods that were previously failing Mick McCarthy.

QPR are 2/7 to go down and despite their squad looking particularly strong on paper, their fixture list is daunting.

Seven of their last ten games are against teams currently in the top eight of the Premier League standings, which includes away days at Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea.

Therefore, it may be Wigan who can pull off the great escape for the second season running, especially given their drastic upturn in performance levels in recent weeks.

Wigan are 1/5 to suffer relegation and have a semi-decent fixture list assuming they can find a regular goalscorer.
