Azarenka to extend 2012 dominance by leading 25/1 accumulator

Published:

Novak Djokovic won his first 43 tennis matches of last season before eventually suffering defeat in the semi finals of the French Open to Roger Federer and Victoria Azarenka is well on the way to embarking on a similar run in the women’s game in 2012.

The women’s world number one has won all of her three tournaments this year so far, including a success over Maria Sharapova in the final of the Australian Open, which represented a first Grand Slam victory.

She is bidding to extend her unbeaten streak with a victory over Mona Barthel in her first match at this year’s BNP Paribas Open, an opponent that Azarenka has already beaten twice this calendar year.

Azarenka is our main pick of a six-player accumulator at Indian Wells, which pays a combined 25/1.

Also in the women’s draw, Flavia Pennetta can extend a two-game winning streak against Carla Suarez Navarro, who has lost more than she has won in 2012 thus far.

And Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova can take a revenge on Vania King for a defeat at the Australian Open as she bids to rediscover the form which saw her sit prominently in the WTA rankings last year.

In the men’s draw, we tipped Jeremy Chardy to beat Marcos Baghdatis in yesterday’s accumulator but the game never made it to court.

Therefore, we are sticking with Chardy again for the same reasons, while we are tipping another underdog to triumph as Bobby Reynolds looks to benefit from home advantage to make it three straight successes over Xavier Malisse.

Finally, Michael Llodra has started 2012 impressively with his only defeats coming against Andy Murray, Juan Martin del Potro and Roger Federer.

He faces Ernests Gulbis at Indian Wells, who he has already beaten at the Australian Open this year.

Indian Wells selections
Victoria Azarenka to beat Mona Barthel @ 1/12
Flavia Pennetta to beat Carla Suarez Navarro @ 1/3
Michael Llodra to beat Ernests Gulbis @ 4/6
Bobby Reynolds to beat Xavier Malisse @ 11/10
Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova to beat Vania King @ 6/5
Jeremy Chardy to beat Marcos Baghdatis @ 5/4
