No more Testing times for England as they head to Sri Lanka

ENGLAND ARE the 6/5 favourites to win the Test series in Sri Lanka, according to Ladbrokes.

England (6/5) will be looking to bounce back from the embarrassing 3-0 whitewash in the Test series against Pakistan and wrap up a victory against a weaker Sri Lanka (5/2). It’s 12/5 England take the series 1-0 or 5/1 they win both tour fixtures. The draw can be backed at 15/8.

Buoyed from their consecutive centuries in the ODI series both Alastair Cook and Kevin Pietersen are chalked up at 7/2 to hit a ton in March, with Jonathon Trott also earning at 7/2 quote and captain Andrew Strauss priced at 4/1.

The first Test begins on March 26th with Andy Flower’s men heading in as the 6/4 favourites and the bookies give outsiders Sri Lanka a 5/2 chance.

With the omission of Eoin Morgan and Graham Onions, Ian Bell (6/1) and Ravi Bopara (7/1) have shortened up in the top runscorer betting and the uncapped Samit Patel earns a 16/1 quote. Spinner James Tredwell enters England’s top wicket-taker market at 16/1.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “Punters are piling their ODI and Twenty20 winnings back in to England and we’re expecting another bumper payout to patriotic fans.”
