Manchester City v Fulham: expect plenty of goals at Eastlands

Published:

Manchester City return to the Eastlands after a disappointing couple of weeks on the road – they were knocked out of the Carling Cup by Liverpool at Anfield before succumbing to a 1-0 defeat at Everton earlier in the week.

It’s a different story at home though for City and they head into this game as big favourites against a Fulham side who have struggled away from Craven Cottage in recent weeks.

However, with City now level on points with Manchester United, the pressure on the Citizens is really starting to get cranked up…

Match odds

Man City head into this game as massive favourites at 1/4 and everything is pointing towards a victory for the Citizens.

Roberto Mancini’s men have won every Premier League home game this term and face a Fulham team who have the fourth worst away record in the division.

With Fulham not winning any of their previous eight away games in all competitions, a win looks a little beyond the Cottagers at 11/1.

However, they did draw at Eastlands last term and it’s 9/2 that this game finishes level.

Goal markets

None of the previous 16 meetings between these sides has finished goalless.

However, City now boast the best home defence in the division while Fulham have the worst away attack.

Backing City to win to nil looks like a brilliant bet at 11/10.

Meanwhile, City have only failed to score more than once in one of their home league games this season – a 1-0 win over Arsenal in December – so backing City to score 2-3 goals at 1/1 could lead to a very decent pay out.
