Liverpool v Tottenham: Anfield poised for a tight and tense affair

Published:

Tottenham Hotspur head to Anfield to take on a reinvigorated Liverpool side who are once again right in the hunt for the fourth Champions League spot.

However, Spurs already look as good as guaranteed to finish in the top four and still harbor title ambitions.

This could be where they finally have to admit defeat in their pursuit of a maiden Premier League title though…

Match odds

Liverpool are the 23/20 favourites for this clash and head into the game on the back of good wins against Manchester United in the FA Cup and Wolves in the league.

However, they face a Spurs side who have won their previous three games against the Reds and have lost just one of their last 12.

Spurs have been flying this season and a punt on them to get all three points at 12/5 may prove too tempting to resist.

However, the Reds have drawn seven of their last 11 games at Anfield and another draw here can be backed at 23/10.

Goal markets

There hasn’t been a goalless draw between these sides in their previous 14 meetings and, with Spurs hitting three in a comfortable win against Wigan in their last game, and Liverpool scoring three against Wolves, goals look likely to come.

Backing over 2.5 goals at 11/10 looks worth consideration.

Meanwhile, Luka Modric scored in his last game for Spurs and opened the scoring the last time these sides met.

The midfielder is a very generous 16/1 to score the first goal in this game.
