Liverpool quality to show in latter stages against Brighton in FA Cup

At 1/4 to beat Brighton in the FA Cup, punters may struggle to find value in getting behind Liverpool to see off their visitors in 90 minutes.

However, looking at the pattern of play in Liverpool and Brighton matches so far this season, betting on half markets looks to be a great way to turn a profit on this game.

The two teams met in the League Cup earlier in the season, where Liverpool ran out 2-1 winners at the Amex Stadium en route to the final of the competition.

Kenny Dalglish certainly takes cup competition seriously, and the likes of Steven Gerrard and Craig Bellamy should have too much quality for their visiting opponents.

That said, it could take a while to break them down.

Both Liverpool and Brighton have been drawing at half-time in 13 of their league games this season, making that the most popular outcome by far at the break, and so the 10/3 for a draw at half-time and Liverpool win at full-time looks appealing.

They did manage to lead at the end of each half in the previous fixture this season, and that outcome is 8/13, but it has taken the Reds longer to get going at Anfield this season, so the 1/1 for most of Liverpool’s goals to come in the second half could be more preferable.

It is 9/4 that Liverpool score their first goal in the second half too and all these potential markets to punt on seem to indicate that the 10/3 for a draw at half-time and Liverpool win full-time is a terrific price.

Brighton have experienced somewhat of a resurgence of late, though they can crumble on the road, and have come out of six away matches suffering losses in the second half, further lending weight to the claim that draw half-time, Liverpool full-time can net punters a profit here.
