Jorgie back favourite, but Chemmy the Dancing On Ice darkhorse

To many people it is a straight shootout between Jorgie Porter and Matthew Wolfenden to win Dancing On Ice, but Chemmy Alcott is steadily improving week by week and could come with a late surge to triumph.

The constant yo-yoing at the head of the Dancing On Ice odds has recently taken its latest spin, with Jorgie winning back favouritism at 1/1.

This was largely because Jorgie and professional partner Matt Evers top scored in the latest week with 24.5 points.

However, the scoring this week should be analysed with a pinch of salt, especially the points handed out by Katarina Witt, who appeared to be judging contestants in a different way to fellow panel members Louis Spence and Robin Cousins.

Katarina seemed not to be judging each celebrity on a level playing field and was offering out points based on how well an act skated compared to their own personal skill level and potential.

This meant that Rosemary Conley was given a slightly surprising seven points, even though the better Matthew only collected 6.5 points.

Matthew was once again troubled by an injured back and although there has been no talk that it will bring a premature end to his time on the show, this has to be classed as a possibility.

He is now 6/4 to win Dancing On Ice.

Chico and Sebastien Foucan are regarded as the next most likely winners, but at 25/1 in the Dancing On Ice odds, Chemmy is certainly worth a small punt.

There is the belief that she is not only likeable, but improving quickly, even to the point where she is the best female skater on the show at present, in terms of her speed and ability to perform on her own.

Growing a bigger fanbase would help her cause, while general dance lessons to improve her elegance on the ice could also see her turn into a genuine threat to win the show.
