Inter or Anzhi look the big options for ex-England boss Capello

Fabio Capello is likely to take some time before deciding where he is to manage next, but when he does finalise a move, it is 13/8 in the football odds that he picks a club in Russia.

Many England supporters in particular will feel that Capello’s time as national manager should go down as a failure, but this is unlikely to diminish his stock at club level.

Although a move to the Premier League is unlikely to be his next port of call at 5/1, there is a strong chance that he will be appointed in either Russia or Italy, with Anzhi Makhachkala or Inter Milan looking his liable destinations.

Capello has long been coveted by Inter and it is believed that Inter president Massimo Moratti has previously been unsuccessful on three separate occasions in luring the Italian to the San Siro.

Claudio Ranieri has only been at Inter since September, but he has not had the positive impact that was hoped and he would almost certainly be shown the door should Capello agree to take over.

However, if money is the driving force behind Capello’s motives, then Anzhi is much more likely to be his next role.

Since billionaire Suleyman Kerimov purchased Anzhi early last year, he has taken giant strides to make them a superpower in European football.

The capture of Samuel Eto’o on monster wages was a giant step in the right direction to prove they did have the financial clout to bring big names to Russia and former Chelsea midfielder Yuri Zhirkov has since followed suit.

However, a big-name manager could be even more important in taking them on a further stage, as he was have the contacts and respect to bring in additional star names.

It is 7/4 that Inter win the battle and Capello’s next job is in Italy.
