High scores may not be enough to give Jorgie Dancing On Ice victory

Jorgie Porter has scored the most points on all four of her marked routines so far on Dancing On Ice and therefore it is no surprise that she is favourite to win the show at 4/6.

After battling for supremacy at the top of the leaderboard with Matthew Wolfenden in the early weeks, she bettered the opposition by a whole three points on the latest show.

Consistently topping the leaderboard has proved a successful strategy in the last three series’, with Ray Quinn, Hayley Tamaddon and Sam Attwater all benefiting from being the best dancers in the show according to the judging panel.

Jorgie is well on track to following suit, but whether she has the likeability to match her talent on the ice remains to be seen.

There are suggestions that Jorgie is frustrating some of the voting public, partly by being somewhat boring and through her reactions when looking massively surprised when achieving big scores.

Meanwhile, the fact she is always sent on as one of the final skaters is potentially alienating Jorgie, with voting believing she is getting preferential treatment from show bosses, even though this is out of her control.

Although she is almost a gimme to be the final woman in contention, she is likely to be pushed hard by the men, who have questionably had harder routines to master in recent weeks.

Matthew is 5/2 to win Dancing On Ice, while the ever improving Chico and Sebastien Foucan could be lively outside contenders at 6/1 and 10/1 respectively.

In Jorgie’s favour is that she is not taking it for granted that she will triumph, stating: “I never think, ‘I’m going to do this,’ because you can set yourself up for a fall.

“I’ve never been one of those people who set their minds on winning things, because I’d be frustrated in the end.”
