Charlton win and Huddersfield defeat in our League One treble

Published:

Charlton cannot afford to falter now after building up a ten-point lead at the top of League One and they lead our 15/1 treble as we expect them to have little trouble brushing aside bottom-club Chesterfield.

Chris Powell’s team remain unbeaten in the league in 2012 and are further boosted by the return of captain Johnnie Jackson, who came back in the weekend success over Stevenage.

Charlton have also won nine of their 12 away games so far this season against clubs placed eighth and below in the current League One standings.

Stevenage and Huddersfield are two of the clubs still in the promotion mix and it is the hosts that can land the spoils at the Lamex Stadium.

Simon Grayson’s tenure as Huddersfield manager got off to the perfect start at the weekend with victory over Exeter, but the absence of 28-goal Jordan Rhodes to international duty with Scotland under-21s is a big blow.

Stevenage have already won at home against the other four clubs aside from Huddersfield currently occupying top-five spots in League One this season and further enhanced their credentials on their own patch by holding Tottenham in the FA Cup.

Bury are the most out of form team in League One at present having gone six games without a win, but they have only lost once at home this season against a team outside of the top seven in the standings at present.

Meanwhile, they can also welcome back Giles Coke from suspension and former Leeds striker Mike Grella is available to make his debut.

Hartlepool must provide a response after being thumped 5-0 by Wycombe in their latest league outing and a point will be sufficient to get their play-off aspirations back on track.
