Bolton v Arsenal: Gunners to get back on winning bandwagon

Published:

It was not so long ago that Bolton were considered one of Arsenal’s ultimate bogey teams when Sam Allardyce regularly appeared in the nightmares of Arsene Wenger.

There would arguably have been nobody happier than Wenger when Allardyce moved on and Arsenal’s results have majorly improved against Bolton since.

Arsenal have triumphed in nine of their last ten Premier League meetings between the pair and are 8/11 to win again and end a disappointing run of three straight top-flight defeats.

Bolton’s form has been improving of late and after a spell of looking like certainties for relegation, there is renewed optimism that they can escape the drop.

It is 4/1 that Bolton beat Arsenal and 5/2 that a point is secured to help their fight with the drop.

Meanwhile, Bolton did win at home to Arsenal last season and will take confidence from the fact that the Gunners have been beaten by some other leading relegation candidates on the road so far in the campaign.

Arsenal have been defeated at the likes of Blackburn, Fulham and Swansea.

However, the best bet on offer at the Reebok Stadium is the 8/13 that over 2.5 goals are scored in the game.

Bolton have gone 11 games without a Premier League clean sheet, while they have also conceded more goals at home this season than any other top-flight team.

This fact additionally rings true for Arsenal in terms of their away form and so goals look almost a certainty, especially with Robin Van Persie netting 20 times in as many Premier League outings on the road.

Van Persie can be backed at 11/4 to score first in the encounter and a less appealing 4/7 to strike at any time in the 90 minutes.
