West Brom vs Norwich: Baggies to find their scoring boots

Published:

West Brom have had their troubles in front of goal in the Premier League in recent weeks, but they can put their setbacks behind them to claim a vital home victory over Norwich.

The Baggies have failed to hit the target in their last three top-flight encounters, but host the ideal opposition in order to end this run.

Norwich have set a Premier League record this season through not having shut out the opposition in any of their opening 21 fixtures.

Meanwhile, West Brom did manage to stick four past Cardiff in their latest outing in the FA Cup.

Also in West Brom’s favour is that they have triumphed in their last four league showdowns with Norwich.

It is 1/1 in the Premier League odds that this victory sequence is extended to five games and West Brom join Norwich on 25 points in mid-table.

However, Norwich will be buoyed by their own fine recent form and the injury problems weakening the attack of Roy Hodgson’s team.

Chris Brunt is definitely out, while top league scorer Shane Long has not played since the New Years’ Day defeat at home to Everton.

Norwich have lost only one of their last six games and would probably be happy with any positive result at the Hawthorns.

The Canaries are 11/4 to leave with three points and 23/10 to secure a draw.

Norwich do tend to enjoy high scoring encounters and this opens up other betting possibilities.

Over 2.5 goals could be one profitable market at 8/11, while both Norwich’s Steve Morison and West Brom’s Peter Odemwingie look good options at 9/4 and 6/5 respectively to score at any time in the 90 minutes.

But it is the 4/6 that both teams score that perhaps is the best bet on offer for the Premier League encounter.
