Thierry Henry available at big odds to bring Swansea to a standstill

Thierry Henry’s return to Arsenal in midweek was as close to a fairytale moment you could find in football.

Bookies took a battering as the man idolised by the Emirates crowd scored the only goal of the game on his second Arsenal debut against Leeds.

The North London club are now set to travel to Swansea on Sunday, with an array of special markets surrounding Henry available from at Ladbrokes.

Immortalised in statue form outside the Emirates Stadium in his famous ‘knee-slide’ celebration pose, the Frenchman is a big 8/1 to score and celebrate in this fashion in Wales at the weekend.

He displayed sheer raw emotion when finding the net in the FA Cup clash with Leeds, and is 3/1 to hug Arsene Wenger after notching for the second time in a week, while it is 7/2 that he comes off the bench to score as he did on Tuesday.

Punters may be wise to treat this market with caution however, as with Henry looking sharp and Arsenal thin on the ground in terms of attacking options, there must be a temptation for Wenger to play the returning hero from the start at the Liberty Stadium.

It is 25/1 for Henry to score a hat-trick on his first league game back, but that could be too far-fetched an outcome for even the most sentimental of punters.

Ice-cool Henry is 16/1 to score with a back-heel though, and with this being the type of cheeky finish we had grown accustomed to during his first stint in England, it could pay dividends to take advantage of these odds on one of the Premier League’s all-time greats.

Swansea are 4/1 to spoil the party with a home win, and 13/5 is on offer for the draw.

Arsenal are looking to bounce back from a defeat to local rivals Fulham in their last league outing though, and buoyed by Henry’s return, look good value at 7/10 to score an away triumph.
