Swansea favourites to land Chelsea star McEachran on loan

Chelsea’s Josh McEachran looks set to join Swansea City on loan until the end of the season – giving the Welsh side’s Premier League survival hopes a big boost.

The 18-year-old has long been a target of Swans manager Brendan Rogers who worked with the midfielder during his time as part of Chelsea’s backroom staff.

He now finally looks set to get his man according to the South Wales Evening Post.

It would be an excellent signing for Swansea and the player would fit perfectly into their style of play and provide an alternative to the impressive Joe Allen and Leon Britton in the middle of the park.

Swansea are currently 3/1 to be relegated following their excellent Christmas period that saw them pick up a draw against Tottenham and get their first Premier League away win at Aston Villa.

Meanwhile, Chelsea forward Gael Kakuta will now spend the rest of the season at Dijon having secured a loan deal with the French club.

However, it doesn’t look like being all outgoings at the Bridge and there continues to be rumours about the Blues signing a host of new players.

Porto forward Hulk continues to be strongly linked with the west London side and Andre Villas-Boas apparently remains an admirer after working with the player during his time with the Portuguese champions.

However, only today Hulk’s agent has come out and claimed that there has been no contact with either Chelsea or Villas-Boas.

Another player who also looks unlikely to join the Blues is Real Madrid forward Gonzalo Higuain.

The Real Madrid striker has been linked with a move to the Blues for some time but the forward has once again reiterated his desire to stay in the Spanish capital.

It could be a disappointing January for Blues fans and they are out at 8/11 to finish in the top four and are a massive 50/1 to win the Premier League.
