Murray can get revenge on Djokovic at the Australian Open

Andy Murray’s progress to the semi finals of the Australian Open has been as smooth and as painless as he could have hoped for – but now things get really difficult.

The Scot faces reigning Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic in a repeat of last year’s final which saw the Serb come out on top, winning his first of three Grand Slam titles in 2012.

Djokovic is once again the favourite heading into this match, but he shouldn’t have things all his own way this time out.

The Serb has faced two tough games in succession, losing his first and, so far, only set against Lleyton Hewitt in his last 16 games, before getting through against David Ferrer in straight sets in his quarter final clash.

He appeared to be struggling with a hamstring problem during the Ferrer match though and – after ending last season in disappointing fashion due to the stresses and strains of his epic year – Murray will look to take advantage.

Fitness is something Murray has no worries about and has looked in great physical shape during the tournament.

Djokovic will take some beating regardless and is currently the 4/9 favourite to beat Murray and continues to look imperious.

However, Murray has won three of the last four meetings between the pair on a hard court – including one where Djokovic was forced to retire – so, if you fancy a patriotic punt, then you could do a lot worse than backing a sprightly Murray to come out on top at 7/4.
