Murray and Kvitova lead the best bets on day six of Australian Open

Andy Murray almost has the perfect game to defeat Michael Llodra and the Brit should have little trouble breezing into the fourth round of the Australian Open.

Llodra is fairly predictable in terms of his style of play and will almost certainly look to follow a serve and volley strategy.

However, Murray is recognised for his counter-punching style and his ability to mix up his game, take pace of the ball and return balls of varying length will arguably prove too much for Llodra to cope with.

Murray is 1/33 in the Australian Open odds to beat Llodra for the third time in three career meetings and the world number four has won 37 of his last 38 encounters with French opponents.

This will also be a good record to maintain as Gael Monfils looks the obvious opponent in round four should Murray beat Llodra.

While the 1/33 is a bit skinny to back outright, the 2/7 available on Murray progressing in straight sets looks decent value.

Another Frenchman still in the draw is Richard Gasquet and his clash with Janko Tipsarevic looks one of the toughest to call on paper.

But with Tipsarevic having fairly lengthy encounters with Dmitry Tursunov and James Duckworth in recent rounds and seemingly battling a host of niggling injuries, Gasquet can take advantage.

Gasquet is fresh after a simple success over Andrey Golubev in round two and is 10/11 to extend his winning record over Tipsarevic to three consecutive victories.

In the women’s draw, Petra Kvitova looks a banker at 8/15 to beat Maria Kirilenko in straight sets.

Kvitova would have had a wake-up call after struggling past Carla Suarez Navarro and will surely take far more care in keeping her balls in play.

She dominated Kirilenko 6-2, 6-2 in the Fed Cup last year and a repeat score could be in store in Melbourne.
