Masters snooker: O’Sullivan can stop Trump storm
Published:Judd Trump has certainly seen a lot of Ronnie O’Sullivan of late and the duo are preparing to do battle again in the big clash of the quarter finals of the Masters.
Also in action in the quarter finals at Alexandra Palace is Neil Robertson, who is in a battle that is equally hard to call with Mark Williams.

This will be the third month in succession in which the duo have met in competition play, with Trump edging a final of a PTC event in Belgium before also securing victory en route to winning the UK Championship.
Trump is 11/10 in the snooker odds to complete a welcome hat-trick, while it is a tempting 6/1 that he triumphs 6/5, given that his recent two successes have come in final-frame deciders.
However, Trump was way below par in his opening match at the Masters when beating Stuart Bingham and he will not be let off so easily if leaving the same calibre of chances to O’Sullivan.
The Rocket looked sharp when defeating Ding Junhui and has the safety game to contain Trump and the break-building talent to take advantage of opportunities among the balls in one visit.
Mark Williams to beat Neil Robertson @ 11/10
Robertson holds a whitewash victory over Williams on his resume from their only previous Masters meeting back in 2007, but punters should not expect a repeat.
Like O’Sullivan and Trump, the last two showdowns between the duo have been settled in a deciding frame and another close contest is likely.
Williams has made the final of the Australian Open and Shanghai Masters this season and flew out of the blocks to race into an early 4-0 lead over Stephen Maguire in the first round.
A repeat will also have Robertson struggling and a 6-3 Williams success stands out at 7/1.
