London tube fares odds-on to go up again next year

Published:

TUBE FARES are odds-on to rise again next year regardless of who wins the London Mayoral Election according to Ladbrokes.

The bookies are offering commuters odds of just 1/2 that their selected fare, whether it be a weekly travelcard or Oyster single costs more on the January 4 2013 than it does on the same date this year.

It’s 3/1 that the fare stays exactly the same and 3/1 again that the price actually decreases.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “This won’t come as great news but the odds suggest fares are only going in one direction. It might be worth having a few quid on to cover next year’s cost.”
