Jennifer Ellison names biggest rival for Dancing On Ice win

Matthew Wolfenden may have leapt to the head of the Dancing On Ice betting after his promising first performance on the show, but Jennifer Ellison still feels that Jorgie Porter is the celebrity that all of the other contestants have to beat.

Jorgie set the standard in the opening qualification show on Dancing On Ice when top scoring with 18.5, making her the early favourite for overall victory.

However, she has now drifted marginally to 9/4 in the Dancing On Ice odds because of the performance of Matthew in the second qualification show.

His impressive routine was applauded with a score of 20.5 from the three judges and as a result he was made 11/10 to win the show.

But Jennifer, who was installed as the initial favourite to win the show before a skate had stepped on the ice, believes that Jorgie will be the tougher of the duo to beat.

According to the Daily Star, she said: “Clearly Jorgie is the one to watch. The first week out and she got one of the highest-ever starting scores. It just puts even more pressure on me.”

The first big hope for Jorgie rather than winning the show will to do no worse than her fellow Hollyoaks cast members on Dancing On Ice.

There is little doubt that she will last longer than Jennifer Metcalfe, who was eliminated in the third round proper after qualifying last year, but Kieron Richardson ended up in the final the year before.

The duo have been offering helpful tips to Jorgie on set of how to keep progressing, while her background in ballet dancing is likely to provide some benefit on the ice in terms of arm movements.

Jennifer is now 11/1 to win Dancing On Ice and with the capabilities of improving, is not without a chance.
