Charles and Camilla to continue royal trend at 2013 darts final

Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles are 25/1 to appear at next year’s Ladbrokes World Championship final, after royal Zara Phillips and her husband Mike Tindall turned up at London’s Alexandra Palace.

This year, Zara probably hoped her husband would keep a low profile after a controversial 2011.

The former England rugby player was at the heart of the Three Lions’ discipline problems at the World Cup in New Zealand, which saw him caught on camera canoodling with another woman.

However, they have since kissed and made up and she was all smiles as she joined Tindall in becoming the centre of attention at the Ladbrokes World Darts Championship in North London.

They seemed entirely at ease as they watched reigning world champion Adrian Lewis retain his crown with a 7-3 victory against Andy Hamilton.

The Ladbrokes-sponsored event is fast becoming a royal hangout. Former star of comedy drama The Royle Family, Ralph Little, was in the crowd this year and Prince Harry was amongst it in 2010.

Even though darts has traditionally been seen as a working class pastime, the sight of Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, would seal its royal approval, if it hasn’t done so already.

Maybe Charles will offer to take his mother, the Queen, to next year’s showpiece. Her Majesty is 100/1 to be cheering on the finalists in 2013.

Ally Pally is one of the few palaces she doesn’t own, but given the popularity of it amongst her family, perhaps she’ll contemplate a move once the smell of beer and cheesy nachos has disappeared.

Prince William and Kate Middleton are a good value 20/1 to appear at the 2013 final, as Wills is reportedly a keen thrower and has even been spotted playing in an unnamed pub.
