Udinese vs Celtic: Bhoys set for Europa League misery in Italy

Published:

Celtic head into their final Europa League Group I game against Udinese knowing only a win will be enough to secure their progression.

Their Italian opponents however, need just a point to make it through to the next stage of the European competition.

It promises to be a tough evening for the Bhoys and they could be making an early exit from Europe once again…

Match odds

Udinese are the big 1/2 favourites and, based on their recent form, it’s easy to see why.

They have beaten Inter Milan and Chievo in their previous two games and haven’t tasted defeat on home soil since their Champions League qualifying defeat against Arsenal back in August.

In fact, they have won all ten of their home games since then and, with Celtic winning just one of their previous ten Europa League away games, the Italians should be confident of victory.

If you fancy an upset though, then Celtic can be backed at 9/2 to get the win and at 13/5 to pick up a draw – which still wouldn’t be enough to see them through.

Goal Markets

In their ten game winning streak, Udinese have found the net at least twice on nine occasions and have won five of those ten encounters by a 2-0 scoreline.

The Italians can be backed at 6/1 to win 2-0 again and at a very tempting 5/4 to win to nil.

Meanwhile, none of Celtic’s previous three games have had more than one goal scored in them and they have failed to score in six of their last ten Europa League matches.

The 5/6 offered for under 2.5 goals to be scored in the game looks extremely tempting.
