Tottenham star Walker in-demand from European heavyweights

Kyle Walker’s marauding displays at right-back have undoubtedly been one of the highlights of Tottenham’s tremendous season so far.

Now, having broken into the England set up, the former Sheffield United man is attracting interest from across the globe, with Jose Mourinho expressing a desire to bring him to Real Madrid.

The ‘Special One’ is in contention with Roma for the starlet’s signature, but any potential move would undoubtedly involve a large transfer fee for such a hot prospect.

In truth, it is unlikely that Harry Redknapp will welcome interest surrounding a player so integral to the quick, counter-attacking style that we have grown accustomed to seeing at White Hart Lane, though it could prove difficult to divert the player’s attention from the chance to work under a manager of Mourinho’s standing at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Redknapp would be happier to move on some of his fringe players, many of which are sitting on big wage packets, and for this reason we could witness the sort of magnitude of transfers that have earned the Spurs boss a reputation as a ‘wheeler dealer’ throughout the years.

Of potential outgoings, Roman Pavlyuchenko has attracted interest from French side Marseille, and could use forward Loic Remy, a reported Arsenal target in the summer, as bait to land their man.

Funds need to be generated and wages freed if Spurs are to make their much-reputed move for Gary Cahill too.

Particularly in light of the fact that they could face competition from Chelsea for his signature, who have renewed their interest in the centre back, and may tempt Bolton to do business by offering Josh McEachran on a loan arrangement.

Harry Redknapp will be desperate to bring in more talent than he loses as he looks to bring home the Premier League title for the first time in Tottenham’s history.
