Terry big scorecast price to have his say in a Chelsea win

Andre Villas-Boas insists that John Terry will start against Tottenham despite his current off-field problems and it would certainly be ironic if he did some of his talking on the pitch with a goal at White Hart Lane.

Terry has vowed to “fight tooth and nail to clear his name” as he prepares for a court appearance next year to answer criminal charges of using racist language towards Anton Ferdinand in the Chelsea’s clash with QPR earlier this season.

But Chelsea and Villas-Boas have given Terry their full backing and he will be keen to repay their faith in him with a strong performance against Tottenham.

Tottenham have found the net in all of their home games so far this season, so it would be an achievement if Terry simply starred in helping Chelsea keep a clean sheet.

It is 11/4 in the Premier League odds that Tottenham fail to score and 7/2 that Chelsea win to nil at White Hart Lane, although the away team has failed to triumph in any of the last 11 encounters between the pair.

However, Terry could also make an impact by scoring in the showdown and the defender already has four Premier League goals to his name this season.

Terry is 33/1 to score the opening goal against Tottenham and a more realistic 10/1 to find the target at any point in the 90 minutes.

Punters feeling especially lucky may want to consider the scorecast of Terry effectively single-handedly securing a Chelsea victory.

It is 175/1 that Chelsea win 1-0 and it is Terry that scores the only goal, which is an outcome that would witness the Blues climb above Spurs in the Premier League standings into third spot.
