Kaka tops Redknapp’s wishlist as Spurs continue title pursuit

Tottenham supporters will look upon their club’s transfer activity in January with great interest once again.

Boss Harry Redknapp has earned a reputation as a ‘wheeler-dealer’ over the years, known for the volume of his deals as well as the quality of the incoming talent.

It was last year he pulled off a shock move for Dutch international talent Rafael van der Vaart in a cut-price deal.

This January, he could be set to pull off his most impressive transfer coup to date as reports are linking him with a loan move for Brazilian international midfielder Kaka.

The 29-year-old playmaker, a former Ballon D’or and FIFA World Player of the Year award winner, has struggled to maintain a regular spot in the Real Madrid side under the stewardship of Jose Mourinho.

Whilst Redknapp already has a wealth of attacking midfielders at his disposal at White Hart Lane, a player of Kaka’s undoubted ability, and standing in the global game, would be a proposition that the Spurs manager could not refuse.

Along with Kaka, Tottenham have also declared their interest in a number of other players across Europe, as they attempt to build a squad good enough have a serious crack at the Premier League for the first time in their history.

Gary Cahill is expected to arrive from Bolton to shore up a defence that has not been as sturdy as usual as of late, though they face competition from Chelsea and North London rivals Arsenal for the England centre back’s signature.

Another player interesting Redknapp is Lille striker Moussa Sow.

The French champions will be reluctant to let go of one of the star assets who led them to Ligue 1 glory last season, but the £18 million fee being touted could be too much to refuse, even for a player who has hit 29 goals in 48 games in France.
