History favours Arsenal as they face tough Man City challenge

Arsenal have fared well against Manchester City in the Premier League recently, failing to concede in the past three league meetings between the sides.

They will go into Sunday’s clash as confident as ever, unbeaten in nine Premier League games, and having ensured Champions League qualification almost at a canter.

Arsene Wenger’s men are a big 4/1 to win at the Etihad Stadium and continue their climb up the table.

This price seems even more generous when you consider that Arsenal came away from the same ground last season with a thumping 3-0 victory, and have won 14 of the past 19 league clashes between the sides.

Whilst Man City have been immensely impressive in domestic competition so far this season, their humbling first loss of the season at Chelsea means that their mental resolve is about to endure its first real test of the campaign.

The Citizens are 4/6 to keep up their 100% home record, but in an Arsenal side featuring Robin Van Persie, they face their toughest task yet.

Dutch hitman Van Persie has smashed 33 goals in 32 Premier League matches this calendar year, and City could struggle to cope with the mercurial forward, bearing in mind they have failed to keep a clean sheet in the league since October 1st.

It is 11/4 the match ends up a draw and with City’s home advantage countering the league’s most impressive form team, that could prove a good bet.

As the weakest areas of each team appears to be the defence, an early goal could very well be on the cards at Eastlands, and you can back the first strike to come in the 27th minute and under at 7/10.

In terms of scoreline betting, a 2-2 draw has chances at a very respectable 14/1, but brave punters could be tempted by the long odds on offer for an away triumph.

It’s 16/1 Arsenal win 2-1 and a massive 40/1 that Wenger’s men record a 3-1 victory.
