Cowell-backed Little Mix favourites to beat Marcus and win X Factor

Little Mix look like being the ones celebrating tonight as they head into tonight’s X Factor final as huge favourites – and even Simon Cowell is backing them.

The foursome are currently 1/3 to become the first group ever to win the show and it’s going to take something special to see Marcus Collins defeat them.

They were excellent in last night’s show, performing versions of You Got the Love and a medley of Empire State of Mind and If I Ain’t Got You with mentor Tulisa.

Their performance impressed former judge and X Factor head honcho Simon Cowell who appeared via satellite link.

He said: “I thought duets were great. I thought all three contestants did really well. I liked the opening number by Marcus and I thought Amelia Lily sang really well but Little Mix won the night.

“’Little Mix are a revelation and if a girl group were to win the show, it makes history.”

Meanwhile, former favourite, Marcus Collins, is out at 9/4 to win the show but should actually count himself lucky that he made it to the final.

Amelia Lily was the act booted off Saturday’s show but it could just as easily have been Marcus who has had a poor couple of weeks at exactly the wrong time.

He was less than impressive with underwhelming with renditions of Hey Ya! and Always a Woman.

Everything is pointing to a Little Mix win and, even at such short odds, they look to be well worth backing.
