Champions League: Inter Milan and Real Madrid to finish in style

Published:

Qualification for the Champions League knockout stages could not have been more straightforward for either Real Madrid or 2010 winners Inter Milan.

They may both already be guaranteed to finish on top of their respective groups but that should make little difference to the outcome of their games this Wednesday evening…

Ajax vs Real Madrid

Real Madrid have absolutely ran away with Group D and have won all five of their games so far.

They have scored 16 goals in those games and have shipped just two. They are currently 11/8 to beat Ajax in their final group game and that looks like a bet well worth taking on.

However, Ajax need to avoid a hammering to stay in second spot and qualify as they are currently three points ahead of third place Lyon and boast a vastly superior goal difference.

As Ajax will be looking to keep things tight, backing under 2.5 goals at 1/1 is a bet worth consideration.

Inter Milan vs CSKA Moscow

Inter haven’t been quite as rampant in their group as Real have in theirs, but they have already done enough to see them finish top of Group B with three wins in their five games so far.

They face a CSKA side who are rooted to the bottom of the group with just one win so far and the Russians are currently without a win in five games in all competitions.

They have lost their last three games and have shipped two in each of them.

Backing Inter to win at 7/5 looks like a brilliant bet – especially considering CSKA have won just two of their previous 13 away Champions League games.
