Webber win caps busy season for bookies – Vettel 4/5 to retain title

MARK WEBBER’S win in Brazil has capped a fine Formula One season for Ladbrokes.

Despite Sebastian Vettel’s dominance the bookies have enjoyed one of their best seasons in history with race by race turnover generally higher than ever before.

Throughout the season Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton were the drivers responsible for most of the pre-race support with Schumacher and Di Resta often also supported at bigger prices.

Vettel is 4/5 to retain his title and the betting for podium places looks competitive again with three drivers (Alonso, Hamilton, Button) earning 5/1 quotes each. Brazilian Grand Prix winner Webber is 12/1 to win the Championship next season.

Red Bull are the 10/11 favourites in the Constructor’s betting from McLaren at 6/4 and Ferrari at 6/1.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “Despite his dominance we were cheering Vettel in most of his races. Punters couldn’t get enough of the British drivers in outright and race markets.”

He added: “We expect the penny to drop soon however and envisage having to keep Vettel on side for most of next season.”
