Support continues for Little Mix to triumph in the X Factor

Little Mix were not given a hope of X Factor victory at the start of the live shows, but a stream of well-received performances have seen them close in on favouritism to win the show.

It seems a long time ago now that Rhythmix were the favourites to be eliminated on the first live show, given the limited success that girlbands in general have previously had on the X Factor.

Hope had beforehand lasted until week seven to be the most successful girlband, but this was after being saved by the judges three times after finding themselves in the bottom two.

However, without ever being in the bottom two Rhythmix quietly made it through the first few live shows and have really turned their performances up a notch in recent weeks, making them one of the most consistent acts in the show.

Some inspired song choices and marketing as being just four regular girls have also played a role in their progress, making them more relatable to the voting public, rather than looking manufactured.

The real support for Little Mix has come in the last few days as they were still the outsiders of the six remaining acts to win the show at 8/1 directly after Sunday’s results.

But now they are up to third in the X Factor betting to win the show, as punters start to go off Craig Colton, Janet Devlin and Misha B in the betting.

Viewers should expect a slower song in movie week, with Rhythmix now being given a chance to showcase their vocals after numerous weeks of up-tempo covers.

The fact that they have now had a reasonable while to gel as a group has given them enough time to work on their harmonies and vocals and it would be no surprise to see them as favourites if they ace another week.
