Norwich vs QPR: Carrow Road to remain a fortress for QPR

Published:

QPR may be faring best of the three clubs promoted to the Premier League last season, but there is every chance that they will be overhauled by Norwich after their trip to Carrow Road.

Neil Warnock’s team have made a strong start to sit ninth in the standings and they have found winning easier on their travels than on their own patch.

This bodes well for their trip to Norwich and confidence will be high having triumphed at Stoke on their latest Premier League outing.

QPR’s odds are 2/1 to beat Norwich, although Carrow Road has not proved a happy hunting ground on their most recent visits.

Norwich have triumphed in seven of their last eight home fixtures with QPR and are 5/4 to win again to leapfrog their opposition in the Premier League standings.

Both teams may accept a point towards their ultimate goal of the campaign to avoid relegation and it is 5/2 that the clash ends all square.

Although neither club have been especially tight in defence this season, looking back at the most recent showdowns between the pair, it could be a low-scoring affair at Carrow Road.

There has only been four goals in the last three league meetings and it is 1/1 in the Premier League odds that under 2.5 goals are netted again.

The fixture may also present Norwich with their best opportunity of keeping a first clean sheet of the season and this can be backed at 9/4.

However, to do so they will have to keep an in-form Heidar Helguson quiet, who has scored five goals in as many Premier League appearances.

The Icelandic striker has played his way into the first team having begun the season down the pecking order and is 6/1 to open the scoring.
