Frankie Cocozza looks doomed in X Factor double elimination

Published:

Frankie Cocozza sang I’ve Got a Feeling by the Black Eyed Peas in Saturday’s live show – but any thoughts about it being a good night for him quickly evaporated.

The judges roundly criticized his performance and even his mentor, Gary Barlow, admitted it was the wrong song to show off his dubious talents.

It was Louis Walsh who was the most scathing though.

He said: “That was really bad karaoke. I don’t know how you’re still in the competition.

“You’re not a rockstar, you’ll never be a rockstar and the only thing big about you is your hair.”

It looks as though Louis has decided where his vote will go if the teenager is in the mix to be eliminated but, with it being a double elimination, there is trouble in store for one other contestant.

Frankie and Kitty Brucknell are currently the favourites to be booted off at 1/1, with Kitty failing to impress with her version of Madonna’s Like A Prayer

Johnny Robinson is also in danger of leaving the competition, with Gary being especially critical of the camp crooner.

Frankie and Johnny are 7/4 to be eliminated together this evening.

Meanwhile, the standout performance of the evening came from Marcus Collins who sang Jackie Wilson’s Reet Petite (The Sweetest Girl in Town).

It was enough to see Marcus usurp former favourite for the competition Janet Devlin at the top of the betting.

The Scouser is now 3/1 to win the competition, while Janet has drifted to 7/2 after her less than thrilling performance.
