Europa League: in-form Tottenham can upset Rubin Kazan

Published:

The Europa League is shaping up pretty well for Tottenham Hotspur and Stoke who are both perched on top of their groups following their opening three games.

They both have tough away games waiting for them this Thursday, but there is plenty to suggest they will both get positive results out of the clashes…

Rubin Kazan vs Tottenham Hotpsur (Thursday, 5pm)

Spurs are enjoying a brilliant run of form at the moment and were excellent for long periods of their 3-1 win against QPR last weekend.

However, they head into this game as 16/5 outsiders which looks like an extremely interesting price considering Rubin Kazan’s less than impressive home record in the Europa League.

They haven’t won in their previous three Europa League home games and face a Spurs team who haven’t lost after 90 minutes for 11 games, winning eight of those clashes.

Backing Spurs at 4/1 is a bet well worth considering.

Stoke vs Maccabi Tel-Aviv (Thursday, 6pm)

Stoke’s only away trip in the competition so far saw them grind out a 1-1 draw in the Ukraine against Dinamo Kiev and another draw looks worth a punt at 23/10.

However, the Potters have been on a poor run recently and have lost their previous three domestic games.

With Maccabi Tel-Aviv winning eight and drawing two of their last ten home games, backing them to win is extremely tempting at 7/4.

Fulham vs Wisła Kraków (Thursday, 8.05pm)

The Cottagers have an absolutely fantastic Europa League record at Craven Cottage and haven’t lost there in 17 games.

They are big 4/11 favourites and it’s hard to see Wisła Kraków upsetting the odds.

However, the Polish side did beat Fulham at home in their last game and can be backed at 8/1 to get another win.

Birmingham vs Bruges (Thursday, 8.05pm)

Group H sees leaders Birmingham take on second place Bruges with the Blues 5/4 favourites to bag all three points.

With Birmingham now eight games without defeat in all competitions, backing them looks worth some consideration.
