Europa League accumulator: Schalke top list of home selections

| 30.11.2011

As we approach the knockout phase of the Europa League, it is all to play for in the latter matches of the group stages, and we look to six home teams to bring in a return at almost 12/1.

Athletic Bilbao seem to be the biggest bankers of our picks, as they look to build on a record which has seen them drop just two points in qualifying thus far.

They host Slovan Bratislava, who have one point to their name, and are 1/5 to get the win that will see them clinch top spot in Group F.

Lokomotiv Moscow need just a point to ensure qualification, but all three could put pressure on group leaders Anderlecht, and after winning 2-1 away at Sturm Graz, they should overcome them on home soil at 2/7.

Meanwhile, German side Schalke look unmissable at 2/5 to dispose of Steaua Bucharest.

A side featuring Raul and Klaas Jan-Huntelaar would appear to have enough firepower to improve on the 0-0 draw they achieved in Romania, and advance from Group J.

In Group K, victory is essential for OB Odense to maintain any chance of progression to the knockout stage.

Priced at 10/11, their sole win in the competition came away to Wisla Krakow, and the Danish side can make a fist of qualification with a home win over the Polish team.

Sporting Lisbon should be expected to keep up their 100 per cent home record in the Europa League also, and facing a Zurich side propping up Group D with just two points, the Portuguese outfit will ensure qualification by triumphing here.

Stoke are another side who can maintain a 100 per cent European home record, and after their draw in the Ukraine, should be backed at 6/5 to obtain three points over Dynamo Kiev and be crowned winners of Group E.
