Catchy song may help Russell Grant survive another Strictly week

Russell Grant’s time on Strictly Come Dancing is almost certain to end soon, but his choice of song for the coming week may be enough alone to help him avoid being the next elimination.

Based solely on the scores of the judges, Russell would be a banker to be the next act to leave as he is clearly the worst dancer of the eight acts left in the competition.

But as is the case every year on virtually every talent show, the public get behind one weak act and they end up staying in contention into the latter stages of the competition, although they never win.

It seems that Russell is the recipient of this support this series, following in the footsteps of John Sergeant and Ann Widdecombe, but the time is closing on him getting voted off.

The Strictly Come Dancing odds have Russell at 5/1 to be the seventh elimination and this could represent good value.

The fact that is troubled by an injured knee that requires an operation may also convince voters that it is time for him to leave.

However, Russell has given himself a great chance of survival with his song choice as he has revealed that he will be dancing to the classic S Club 7 hit ‘Reach’ with partner Flavia Cacace.

He wrote on Facebook:” Just heard the song for this week ‘Reach’ by S Club 7 and I absolutely LOVE IT!

“Never heard it before and it’s very meeeeeee.”

Anita Dobson survived after being in the bottom two last week and is the favourite at 6/5 to be the next celebrity voted off, with Alex Jones priced at 2/1 in the same market.
