X Factor betting speaks: Sunday’s elimination predicted here

Published:

It’s been seven weeks in the making but the X Factor live shows arrived on our television screens last night and lovers of Saturday night’s flagship show were not left disappointed.

While Louis Walsh remains as stagnant and cliched as ever, series eight of the X Factor is bigger, bolder and brasher than ever before, it’s just a shame the contestants are the most bland yet.

Heading into the first live show Janet Devlin dominated the betting and following a rendition of Coldplay’s ‘Fix You’, the 16-year-old remains the favourite at 5/2.

However it was Misha Bryan who stole the show with a rendition of Adele’s ‘Rolling In The Deep’ and Bryan can now be backed at 4/1 to win the competition having opened at 12/1.

But while the girls dominate the top of the winners betting, it’s the elimination market that has been targeted throughout the evening and punters have spoken.

Revealed a couple of days ago, this week’s twist means all four judges must lose one act from their category, meaning four face the boot on Sunday night.

The judges have their favourites but while the betting suggests the decisions shouldn’t be too tough for Louis, Tulisa Contostavlos and Gary Barlow, Kelly Rowland faces a sleepless night.

The Girls’ Sophie Habibis is the 4/6 favourite to leave the show tomorrow but the understated singer has gained an army of followers and early favourite Amelia Lily, now just 6/4 to be booted off, should be worried.

Soldier Jonjo Kerr struggled and, after some harsh comments from the judges, is now as short as 1/5 to be evicted.

That’s the same price as James Michael in the boys category and the 20-year-old from Cheshire looks set for the boot, although Gary Barlow did commend James for his guitar playing, the only act to play an instrument.

A group has never won the X Factor but there were some strong performances from the groups tonight, however Two Shoes’ career looks set to end early with the Essex duo 1/3 to leave on Sunday night.

The punters have spoken and while the girls category remains open, the odds suggest the X Factor will come to an end for Jonjo, James and Two Shoes.
