Wigan vs Bolton: Klasnic return to end Bolton’s losing streak

Published:

Owen Coyle must be wondering where his next Premier League victory is going to come from, luckily for his Bolton team they travel to an almost-equally out of form Wigan next.

Victories have been sparse for the pair so far this season with Bolton on a six-game Premier League losing streak and Wigan having been beaten in each of their last four fixtures.

Thankfully, at least one of these losing streaks will come to an end and it may pay to side with Bolton, largely because of the greater firepower they have in attack.

Bolton are 11/5 in the Premier League odds to win at Wigan and a victory would see them leapfrog their opponents in the standings.

A Wigan victory is priced at 5/4, but some punters may think that the 23/10 that the points are shared is the best bet on offer given that four of the last five Premier League meetings between the pair have ended all square.

With both teams lacking an obvious source of goals, it is no surprise that another good betting opportunity seems the 4/5 that under 2.5 goals are scored.

Wigan have only ever managed ten goals in the Premier League against Bolton, while the last four showdowns between the pair have only seen a combined three goals scored.

The fact that Hugo Rodallega is still injured will not help their cause.

Because of this there may even be a case for backing under 1.5 goals at 12/5, while Bolton to triumph 1-0 appeals the most in the correct scoreline market at 7/1.

Ivan Klasnic is ready to return for Bolton after serving a suspension and there could be mileage in taking the 35/1 scorecast of him scoring and Bolton winning 1-0.
